Simple steps to download e pan card

A PAN Card is an important document. This unique document consists of a 10-digit alphanumeric code. It is issued by the Income Tax Department of India to taxpayers to carry out tax-related or money-related work. However, it is also widely accepted for identification purposes in official setups. If you do not have your physical copy, a digital one will also be accepted at many places. A pan card download can be done in a few simple steps. All you need is a device and an internet connection. 

What is an E pan card?

E-pan card is nothing but an electronic copy of your original pan card. You can download it through the NSDL or UTIITSL portal within a matter of a few minutes. This instant e pan card download is free of cost and only requires your Aadhaar and contact number to validate your request. However, this free-of-cost download facility is only made available to users once a month. 

How to download an E-pan card?

Mentioned below are the steps for e-pan card download through the UTIITSL website:

  • Visit the UTIITSL portal, i.e. https://www.pan.utiitsl.com/.
  • Scroll down to the ‘PAN Services’ Section
  • Click on the 4th option, which will be ‘Download e-PAN.’
  • It will redirect you to an application page with the name ‘facility for download of e-PAN Card.’
  • Enter the details as required, which will include your PAN number, DOB, and GSTIN Number (if applicable)
  • Once you have entered the relevant details, enter the captcha code mentioned in the box.
  • Click on ‘Submit’ once done.
  • Once your request for an instant pan card download gets registered successfully, a download link will be sent to the contact number registered with your PAN card.
  • You can use the link to download your e-pan card.
  • In case your correct contact number or email address is not registered with the PAN card, you can update the same before raising the download request.

Discussed below are the steps for e-pan download through the NSDL website:

  • Open the NSDL portal or directly visit https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/requestAndDownloadEPAN.html
  • You will find two options on the download e-pan page, acknowledgement number and PAN
  • If you have an acknowledgement number, select the same option and fill in the required details 
  • Enter the captcha code mentioned on the screen and click on ‘Submit’ to proceed
  • If you wish to get your e-PAN through your PAN number, select the second option
  • Enter your PAN number, Aadhaar number, DOB, year of birth, and GSTN (optional)
  • Read the mentioned terms and check the given box
  • Enter the captcha code and press ‘Submit.’
  • Once you have successfully submitted the details, a PDF of your e-PAN will be displayed in front of you
  • You can download your e-PAN with the help of the ‘download PDF’ option

How to make changes to your PAN card?

Before filling out the pan card download form on the UTIITSL portal, you will have to make sure that the details linked with your PAN cards, such as your contact number and email address, are correct. In case these details on your PAN are not updated, here’s how you can do the same:

  • You will be able to make these changes through both the portals, i.e. NSDL and UTIITSL.
  • Visit the official website of either one of them.
  • Go to the update PAN section and select ‘correction’. You will find the space to provide updated information on the portal.
  • You will also be required to submit an identity proof and address proof to complete the process.
  • Once your documents and the details get verified, your details will be updated. You can then perform the steps for pan card download.
