How Community Programs Can Help You?
People plan vacations, night outs and day outs to spend time with people they love and care for. They do this because it brings them joy, happiness and enjoyment. People choose different activities and events to make themselves feel more comfortable and close with their families and friends.
Eben Mission sees it as their responsibility to make NDIS participants feel comfortable and loved under their care. It is important for them to see participants have fun with their community and group events, and the NDIS daily living support in Sydney creates opportunities for people to have fun!
How does the NDIS help with community programs?
The NDIS daily living support in Sydney, offers people with disabilities the chance to grow and socialise with community programs. Community programs and events allow people to interact with each other while also participating in activities and games. The NDIS sees this as a way for people to improve their personalities and confidence by encountering different situations with various people.
Eben Mission takes community programs and chances very seriously. They take it upon themselves to provide participants with social and community participation programs that allow opportunities and possibilities for growth.

How Can You Include It In Your Plan?
You can include having community events and activities in your NDIS plan. The NDIS has created budgets that allow participants to use their NDIS funds accordingly. There are only two ways that you can include community participation under your belt:
1. Core Supports Budget:
This is the most flexible funding given to you by the NDIA. Even though it includes four categories for support, you can choose each separately. You can opt for the Assistance with Social and Community Participation category to involve community events in your plan.
2. Capacity Building Budget:
This is a way for participants to go over their comfort zone and achieve more confidence and independence. It has more categories than the core support budget, going up to a total of eight categories. You can go for the Increased Social and Community Participation to achieve community activities under your plan.
Benefits of Community Programs
Interacting with people with the same conditions and struggles as you can be liberating. It is comforting to realise that you are not alone in this journey. There are plenty of benefits when it comes to organising community events for people with disabilities. Some include:
1. Increased confidence:
Talking with people about your struggles makes you feel stronger. It is important to confide with people as talking and socialising boost confidence.
2. Removes feelings of loneliness and isolation:
Being with other people can make you feel at ease. Loneliness is dangerous and saddening, which community events help to evade.
3. Build communication skills:
People can be afraid and shy to talk with other people. Hosting such activities and extracurricular events makes way for communication skills to improve and grow.
